LISTEN2THECALL is a special musical gift from Jamaica to Haiti with Love.>>
>>In response to the crisis caused by the 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, Jamaica's music fraternity has come together in an unprecedented show of solidarity for a historic recording titled “Listen2theCall. The song project will premiere on Tuesday, February 23rd at 4:53pm Haiti time, with a Global Media Simulcast planned to coincide with the earthquake's 6 week anniversary to remember the victims and survivors of the killer quake.
Produced by Handel Tucker, Listen2theCall features several of Jamaica’s greatest talents including Sly & Robbie, Toots (of Toots & The Maytals), Marcia Griffiths, Maxi Priest, Diana King, Luciano, Barrington Levy, Beres Hammond and dub poet Mutabaruka along with more than 25 other artistes and musicians. A special four minute and fifty three second acoustic mix of “Listen2theCall” will launch the remix project and profits from the sale of the song project will go to benefit the relief and rehabilitation effort in Haiti. The song, video and ringtones will be available for download at www.listen2thecall.com as of 5:00pm on Tuesday, February 23rd and the remix album will be available on iTunes after release by Spring 2010.
This project is the brainchild of Raymond Azan (co-founder of the FOR JAMAICA Inc. charity), superstar music producer Handel Tucker and Andrea Davis (founder of the International Reggae Day Festival). With more than 30 top Jamaican artistes and musicians on the first of several remixes, this song is a historic moment in Jamaican musical history.
The goal of the Listen2theCall project is to encourage the global community to embrace active listening as a tool for global change.
